Summer has finally arrived in the Dells with flowers and butterflies, motorbikes and convertibles, fireworks, barbecues and smiling brown faces. With the rising temperatures and sunny skies comes a strong urge to get out into the fresh air and play. Waterparks have a new allure, and the desire to get soaked to the skin on a jet boat ride is almost too hard to resist – and who wants to resist, anyway?
Wisconsin Dells has been voted the #1 Family Vacation Destination in the USA and #3 in the world! – by Trip Advisor – and it’s easy to see why. Everywhere you go there are opportunities for families to have fun together. The huge tubes to slide down a waterslide together are just the beginning.
-
There’s the Dells Comedy Club’s G-rated Family Show (kids 10 and under are free with a paid adult) where they say, “a family that laughs together stays together”.
-
The Tommy Bartlett Exploratory has more than 150 interactive science exhibits for you to put your hands on.
-
At Wizard Quest you can create a family strategy in a life-sized labyrinth adventure game that puts you smack dab in a full-size world of wizards and fairies.
-
The family can come together on the green and tee-off together for a little fun competition at any one of the many miniature golf courses. (The sign at Pirate’s Cove flashes a kid’s age 5 and under free offer).
-
There are a few portrait studios in the downtown where the family can step back in time and see how they would have looked Victorian-style, or as gangsters in the roaring 20’s, or in the saloons of the wild, wild West.
And if you’re wanting to remember what is was like before you were a family, some time away for just you two, have we got the romantic getaway for you…
Many White Rose Inns frequent visitors know Mariah, our very popular manager of several years. Mariah brought her considerable energy to the White Rose and extended her warm heart to guests and staff alike. Mariah is taking a sabbatical for the moment, but the White Rose is still in capable hands. In March Annie and her husband Stretch took up residence in the Inn as managers. Annie has been a staff member for several years and knows the White Rose in and out. Stretch has been involved in much of the remodeling and construction of the Bed and Breakfast houses over the years.
We would also like to welcome our newest staff member, Christine Comeau, who has just taken the position of Events Coordinator. Christine, an ordained minister, has been performing weddings in this area for many years. Her experiences as an executive secretary as well as a restaurant manager make her well qualified to organize family reunions, meetings, conferences, and of course, weddings at the White Rose Inns.
